Chairman & CEO, Zimbra
Patrick Brandt is Chairman and CEO of Zimbra, Inc. (formerly Telligent). In July 2013, Telligent acquired Zimbra from VMware (NYSE: VMW). The two businesses merged to form Zimbra, Inc. A veteran enterprise software entrepreneur and executive, Brandt has a proven track record of leading companies through rapid growth and expansion.
Prior to serving as CEO at Telligent, and now Zimbra, Brandt was the founder and CEO of Skywire Software in 2000. During his eight-year tenure at Skywire Software, Brandt led the company through organic growth and 11 acquisitions, including the leveraged buyout of Docucorp (NASDAQ: DOCC) in 2007. By 2008, the market-leading vertical software company employed more than 600 people and served more than 2,400 customers in 45 countries. In July of 2008, Brandt led and negotiated the sale of Skywire Software's enterprise software business to Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) and Skywire Software’s BPO business to Kubra, a private-equity backed outsourcer. Brandt remained on the Board of Directors, and served as Chairman of iWave Software, a spin-off of Skywire Software, until its sale to EMC (NYSE: EMC) in December 2012.
Today, Brandt serves on the board of appBackr, the first and only digital wholesale marketplace for mobile apps. Brandt also serves on the board of PeopleAnswers, a provider of next-generation, cloud-based talent assessment systems to help maximize the quality of every hire, reduce turnover and streamline the selection process.
Brandt has also earned several accolades for his business acumen, leadership, and community service, some of which include: the Ernst & Young 2008 Southwest Area Entrepreneur of the Year Award®, the 2008 Tech Titans Corporate CEO Award, the 2006 Ellis Award from the Entrepreneur Foundation of North Texas, and the 2004 Tech Titans Emerging CEO Award.
An active community volunteer, Brandt serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations focused on promoting education and entrepreneurship among at-risk youth, and encouraging philanthropy to emerging and established companies. Brandt is a founding director of the National Foundation of Teaching Entrepreneurship Greater Dallas Chapter, Chairman of the Board of Entrepreneurs For North Texas, a board member of Education is Freedom, a Partner of Dallas Social Venture Partners and an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization. Brandt earned his bachelor's of science in economics and finance from Southern Methodist University.
Chief Technology Officer, Zimbra
Rob Howard is the Chief Technology Officer at Zimbra, Inc. (formerly Telligent). In July 2013, Telligent, the company that Howard founded in 2004, acquired Zimbra from VMware (NYSE: VMW). The two businesses merged to form Zimbra, Inc. Howard oversees the technology roadmap, research & development, and is the visionary behind the company’s product development. Working with global brands including Comcast, Dell, H&R Block, Microsoft, Oxfam, Rackspace and many others, Howard has put his expertise and insight to work for organizations of all sizes wanting to apply the value of collaborative work to their business.
A true pioneer in enterprise social software, Howard is known throughout the industry as an authority in collaboration and community software. With over 15 years of experience in the technology sector, his roots began at the frontiers of social technology with his contribution to the development and adoption of Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Web platform technologies. While at Microsoft, he helped create and nurture the innovative ASP.NET community.
An expert at developing enterprise social software, he has authored several books on the topic of software development and speaks at conferences worldwide on the topics of social computing and software development. Howard is a member of the Lonestar chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization, and he earned his bachelor's of business administration from Baylor University.
Chief Financial Officer, Zimbra
Kristin Reichert is the Chief Financial Officer at Zimbra, Inc. (formerly Telligent). As CFO, Reichert oversees financial operations, human resources, legal, tax and office administration.
Reichert has over 15 years of experience in finance, primarily working with technology organizations. Prior to Zimbra, and previously Telligent, Reichert served as controller for Skywire Software, an enterprise software company. As part of the leadership team at Skywire Software, she presided over the financial aspects of multiple acquisitions and their subsequent integrations, and eventually a leveraged buy-out. Reichert also contributed her financial and technology sector expertise to Docucorp International as a senior financial analyst and at PricewaterhouseCoopers in public accounting.
Based on her performance as a corporate financial steward, Reichert was named a finalist for the Dallas Business Journal 2013 CFO of the Year Award and the D CEO 2012 Financial Executive Awards. Reichert is a certified public accountant and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Southern Methodist University.
Chief Marketing Officer, Zimbra
Andy Pflaum was appointed as Chief Marketing Officer in August 2013, after Telligent and Zimbra merged to form Zimbra, Inc. As CMO, Pflaum is responsible for the overall global strategy and execution of Zimbra’s channels and strategic marketing program, including product management, marketing communications, branding, demand generation and strategic positioning.
Prior to Telligent acquiring Zimbra from VMware (NYSE: VMW), Pflaum was part of the VMware Zimbra team, leading at various times sales, channels and strategic alliances. During his tenure, Pflaum closed Zimbra's first eight-figure deal; led a team that grew Zimbra's annual channel revenues by over 40%, including hundreds of resellers; and oversaw thousands of existing customer relationships. Before joining Zimbra, Pflaum also worked with Seven Networks and Onebox.com.
Today, Pflaum serves as vice chair on the Board of Trustees for the Global Aids Interfaith Alliance (GAIA), an organization that provides basic health services in communities affected by HIV, AIDS, TB and malaria in Africa. Pflaum also serves on the foundation board for the University of North Carolina Graduate School of Social Work. Additionally, Pflaum is currently an advisor at Vidtel, Inc., a cloud-based video conferencing service provider.
Pflaum earned his bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University.
President of Worldwide Field Operations, Zimbra
As President of Worldwide Field Operations at Zimbra, Inc. (formerly Telligent), Brent Rhymes manages the company’s global sales and field operations. Prior to the Telligent and Zimbra merger, Rhymes served as Chief Operating Officer at Telligent.
Rhymes has more than 20 years of proven experience in envisioning, planning, building and launching successful software products and companies that are grounded on business and customer value. Prior to Zimbra, and previously Telligent, Rhymes served as CEO of iWave Software, a provider of enterprise storage and private cloud automation software. Under Rhymes' leadership, iWave grew revenues fivefold, completed three strategic acquisitions, and developed iWave Storage Automator, a first-of-its-kind product designed to fully automate the creation, removal, and management of multivendor enterprise storage software. iWave was named a "Cool Vendor in Storage Technologies for 2012" by the Gartner Group and was acquired by EMC Corporation later that year.
Before Rhymes' leadership role at iWave, he co-founded two successful technology startups including Knoxville-based FileKeeper, Inc. (sold to Yosemite Technologies in 2006) and Houston-based Software Realization Corporation (sold to NetIQ Corporation in 2000). Rhymes also previously served as a senior executive at NetIQ Corporation, NEON Systems, and Scalable Software. He has also held sales and management positions at Microsoft, IBM, and Exxon Company USA.
Rhymes earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee and master's degree in marketing from the University of St. Thomas.
Senior VP of Operations, Zimbra
Richard Zicchino is Senior Vice President of Operations at Zimbra, Inc. His areas of responsibility at Zimbra include corporate development, strategic alliances and merger integration.
Prior to the merger of Telligent and Zimbra, Zicchino served as Senior Vice President of Product Development at Telligent. With a rich background in enterprise software and social technology, he led the company’s product development, quality assurance and delivery. Previously, Zicchino also served as Release Management Director at Oracle. There, he led the effort to integrate the Skywire Software development team into Oracle by implementing a common set of processes and tools, including a development collaboration site. At Skywire Software, Zicchino served as Director of Operations Performance Management, working with the executive management team to develop their enterprise software strategy, while also directing support, development, professional services and hosting for a variety of software products.
Prior to Skywire Software, Zicchino acted as general manager of iWave Integrator (now iWave Software), where he led the overall operations of the division, including product development, services, support for enterprise software, marketing and sales. Zicchino holds a bachelor's of business administration in business computer information systems from the University of North Texas.
Senior VP of Customer Care, Zimbra
John Rabara is Senior Vice President of Customer Care at Zimbra, Inc. (formerly Telligent), which serves more than 5,000 organizations globally. With a deep dedication to creating superior customer experiences, Rabara oversees the customer service department at Zimbra and is responsible for customer renewals and customer satisfaction. Prior, Rabara was SVP of Customer Care at Telligent, with responsibilities for managing customer service, support delivery and education.
Previously, Rabara served as Director of Sales Consulting at Oracle, where his responsibilities included enterprise product support, sales leadership and support, and strategy development. Rabara also served as the Director of Customer Solutions at Skywire Software, focusing on development, implementation and support for one of the company's core products. Prior to Skywire Software, Rabara acted as the product manager/developer of The Software Group's Sheriff System. While at The Software Group (now Tyler Technologies), he was also part of the team that developed the enterprise Odyssey product.
Rabara earned his bachelor's of business administration with a focus on business analysis, management information systems from Texas A&M University.
Senior VP of Support, Zimbra
Thom O’Connor is the Senior Vice President of Support at Zimbra, Inc. O’Connor was appointed to this position in July 2013 after Telligent and Zimbra merged to form Zimbra, Inc. As Senior VP of Support, O’Connor is responsible for Zimbra’s global post-sales customer support.
Prior to Telligent acquiring Zimbra from VMware (NYSE: VMW), O’Connor was part of the VMware Global Support Services organization, serving in director-level roles managing support, training, and professional services for Emerging Products and End-User Computing. Before Zimbra, O’Connor worked at CommuniGate Systems as the Director of Services and Sendmail as a consultant. His technology career has been focused on making global customers successful at operating major messaging, social and collaboration platforms.
O’Connor earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and holds a Unix Certificate from UC Santa Cruz Extension.
