Zimbra Collaboration Server (ZCS)

Open Source Edition

ZCS Open Source Edition is a free email and collaboration solution ideal for individuals or smaller organizations that do not require Zimbra Support, advanced administration, business continuity and only IMAP email on desktops and devices.

Starter Edition

ZCS Network Starter Edition is a software-only package with 15 Professional Edition mailbox licenses plus software & updates only with NO Zimbra Support. Additional mailbox licenses cannot be added; Zimbra Mobile and Zimbra Archiving and Discovery are included.

Standard Edition

ZCS Network Standard Edition is an enterprise-grade email and collaboration solution with no cap on the number of mailboxes that can be licensed. Zimbra Mobile and Zimbra Advantage Support (upgradeable to Premium) are also included.

Professional Edition

ZCS Network Professional Edition is an enterprise-grade email and collaboration solution with no cap on the number of mailboxes that can be licensed. It features Zimbra Mobile, Zimbra Connector for Outlook, Zimbra Advantage Support (upgradeable to Premium) and Zimbra Archiving and Discovery.

Zimbra Archiving and Discovery

Zimbra Archiving and Discovery (ZAD) is an email archiving and compliance solution available in Zimbra Professional Edition. When enabling this for users, it does not count as an extra mailbox, you only need to allot for additional storage required for the archive mailbox.

Zimbra Collaboration Server Appliance (ZCA)

Zimbra Appliance Basic Edition

ZCA Basic Edition is a free email and collaboration solution designed for deployment on VMware vSphere to provide effortless administration. It is a software-only package for up to 10 mailboxes and NO Zimbra Support. Zimbra Mobile is included (without BlackBerry support). Additional mailbox licenses cannot be added, nor can Zimbra Archiving and Discovery.

Zimbra Appliance Standard Edition

ZCA Standard Edition is an enterprise email and collaboration solution designed for deployment on VMware vSphere to provide effortless administration. Up to 1,000 mailboxes can be licensed and it comes with Advantage Support (upgradeable to Premium) and Zimbra Mobile.

Zimbra Appliance Professional Edition

ZCA Professional Edition is an enterprise email and collaboration solution designed for deployment on VMware vSphere to provide effortless administration. Up to 1,000 mailboxes can be licensed and it comes with Advantage Support (upgradeable to Premium). Zimbra Mobile is included as is Zimbra Connector for MS Outlook; Zimbra Archiving and Discovery is included.

Licensing Overview

Annual Licenses

Annual licenses renew every year based on the day of purchase. For the duration of the subscription, customers are entitled to major and minor release updates and Zimbra Advantage or Premium Support, portal access and more.

Multi-Year Licenses

Multi-year licenses renew every 2 or 3 years based on day of purchase and are had at a discounted level from annual licenses. For the duration of the subscription, customers are entitled to major and minor release updates and Zimbra Advantage or Premium Support, portal access and more.

Perpetual Licenses

Perpetual is a permanent software license for the major release version you are buying, plus any minor release updates to it (e.g. only 7.x.x). Zimbra Support is purchased either annually or as a three-year term in addition to the license cost (with first year mandatory) and entitles you to major release updates, portal access and more. Perpetual licenses offer the most cost-effective licensing model for multi-year deployment.

Zimbra Support

Zimbra customers have access to Zimbra's highly-regarded Technical Support Program. Two Support Package tiers are offered: Advantage and Premium.

Unless otherwise noted, all packages come with Advantage support included and can be upgraded to Premium support at a minimal cost.
