Network Software Product Definitions

Mailbox

A Mailbox means an electronic entry that defines a specific database instance through which email, instant messages, calendar events, contacts, documents and other data can be sent, received, stored, shared and managed through the Product (as defined in the Zimbra License Agreement (LA), available at http://files.zimbra.com/website/docs/zimbra_network_la.pdf). A Mailbox is almost always associated with a unique named user. (A Mailbox does not include distribution lists, aliases, locations, or resources, but does include archive copies of the Mailbox---See below.) The Product is licensed by the aggregate number and class of production Mailboxes (see below for types licensed).

Archive Mailboxes are included with the Faculty/Staff Mailboxes. For Student/Alumni, archive mailboxes are licensed as an additional Mailbox of the same class as the Student/Alumni Mailbox - together, the original updateable Mailbox and the read-only Archive Mailbox count as two licensed Mailboxes of that class. Each Archive Mailbox can only be associated with one Student/Alumni Mailbox at any given time.
