Default Email zimlet issue when message contains a mailto: and a ?

We use Sympa (kind of majordomo) as mailing list server.

For moderated lists the moderator receive an email including 2 links, one to accept, one to refuse a new message sent to the list.

This links are like this :

mailto:toto@domain.com?subject=DISTRIBUTE%ffddfdsf hfsdfhgdfkdfjfhdsfkds

Email zimlet only take the email adress toto@domain.com and not all the mailto:
link

Zimlet guru in the area, i need your help !

I will also put a bug in bugzilla for this

Can I have the bug #?
Also, you'll need the Zimbra Toaster for that, as it's not handled through the webclient.

But if the link is in an e-mail under zimbra, the email zimlet will handle it partially, and the toaster will do nothing.
I think the toaster will handle it only if the link is in Word for example.

Default mailto subject and other parameters

I'm having the exact same issue.

Clicking on a mailto URL does not populate the subject or message fields properly. We are using Oracle Financials and the mailto tag does not work at all when trying to reply to a spending request via email.

This is happening in the Zimbra Web Client.

I propose the following:
Do not ask to add a mail address to my address book if the mailto tag /URL contains for than just the address of the intended mail recipient.
Clicking on a mailto tag / URL should populate the proper fields in the mail composition form.
Right click should allow you to compose email, add address, maybe take you to a mailto configuration dialog.

Has there been an progress at getting this added as a feature request or bug report?

We can dig into the code and implement this and submit the code back to Zimbra if you give me details on how to submit code fixes / enhancements.

Many corporate applications use mail work flow and the mailto tags too accomplish this mail work flow. Zimbra is limiting corporate acceptance by not fully implementing the mailto tag.

This is a feature request / bug in the Zimbra Web Client / ZWC and is not related to the toaster application or the default mailto in Windows / Linux or Macintosh.

Welcome on the forums peapodadmin!

First try to update your zimbra version.
I looked on 5.0.9, the subject and body params are handle.
Also, this is how the click on the links are handle :
-if contact found or there is no contact list (i.e. contacts app is disabled), go to compose view
-otherwise, no contact in addrbook means go to contact edit view
