Ya it rarely ever displays the correct pages for me also. Usually its just a Websnapr logo or whatever. Kind of worthless to me when it works only 3% of the time.
Printable View
ditto. It rarely works.
I checked out the websnapr site and couldn't find any real information on the company or a privacy policy. I personally do NOT want every URL emailed to me to be sent to some 3rd party, even if they did have a privacy policy. But I'm in the same boat as the OP, I want clickable links.
Zimbra: Please, please remove the stupid websnapr functionality from the core URL zimlet. Feel free to make a websnapr zimlet, just please release a URL zimlet that does what it's supposed to.
Has anyone bothered to file an RFE in bugzilla?

You should also vote on it. Your bug number in your post can be made into a link to the bug, easier for people to get to it and vote on it.;)
I tried a quick hack, and for me it works.
I hope it can be a quick workaround for others, so I uploaded it as an attachment to the bug.
(Tested with Zimbra OSS 4.5.4)
- Go to Zimbra Admin
- Zimlets
- disable the zimbra_url URL Zimlet
- undeploy it
- click on #deploy new'
- upload the following .zip file
http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/attachment.cgi?id=4519
I removed the Thumbnails and just display the URL.
My point is security:
If you get a spam email and just move with the mouse over a link with your
unique spam-target id number in the URL, than Websnapr calls the URL, and the spammers start hitting you more, because they know that you are a real person reading the inbox and opening emails.
So for my user base I just have removed the thumbnail and display the URL which gives the user additional security info about a link before he clicks it (if a href and text is not the same).
P.S. In Firefox I had to clear the browser cache and re-logon to see the Zimlet update. (Through the admin 'View eMail' Link I got allways the most current version of the zimlet - while trying around)
P.P.S This version does not show URL parameters ?x=y in the Popup info.
Ifyou want them use the version below in the next post.
Tested in 4.5.3 Network edition on CentOS.
I've only found one problem:
Popup for a link having parameters does not show the parameters.
This is a security issue, though less of one than the websnapr functionality.
Example:
http://www.zimbra.com/forums/newrepl...uote=1&p=44326
Shows as:
http://www.zimbra.com/forums/newreply.php
Otherwise, Thank you!
Bill
Find here a version where the url parameters are kept,
and display in the popup.
Works as advertised.
Thank you very much.
