Honestly, I would also feel confused to correct the bug. The help of a zimbra professional would be more than appreciated. It can be only due to a change inside Zimbra (ldap for example) introduced in this new version. So they may know better than us how to search.

I filed a bug for this as in my opinion the release statement is not what has been done with the zimlets.

The posix/samba integration zimlet has never been officially supported and
there are no plans to maintain it.

So what does that mean? You will leave everyone hanging? It would have been nice to let everyone know that these 2 admin extensions would be broken after the upgrade, with absolutely no plans to fix it or help people get it working again..

Zimbra is really changing since some times.
Less and less platforms supported, less and less zimlets supported, upgrades less and less frequent.

Exchange becomes more and more an interesting alternative for me.

Undeploying both zimlets will get you the admin console back but will adding a new user will give you the an error about the missing required posix attributes.

I posted a script that will let you add a new user from the command line:

Hi all

This also prevents me from updating 2 installations. I've been using this feature for several years now and it was a very important part of Zimbra!
Hopefully there will be a solution soon - for me there is no Zimbra without it.

The only solution will be when a Community member steps-up to maintain and improve these zimlets - are you offering to do that, is anyone else willing to do it?
