Default Google Translator Zimlet and NAT firewall / proxy

I've two installations of Zimbra 4.0 on Suse10.0 on one, the Google translator works great, on the other it dont work at all.

I'm assuming this is due to the proxy, they both sit behind a firewall, but the one that works is the free version of Smoothwall, configured as transparent access, and the one that does not work is the Advanced Firewall product from smoothwall, and that's configured to use port 3128 proxy for the web.

I know there's issues with Zimbra and webproxies, is there anything I can do to make this zimlet work, or is it a lost cause?

Vote cast I assume there's no quick & easy workaround for this?
