Lightbulb zimlet to save email on local hard drive

Is there a Zimlet available to save email to local hard drive? I have searched and have not found a zimlet completed to do this. I know about Show Original and then save. This is not what I am looking for. Anteos started a solution in Bugzilla but I have not been able to get that Zimlet that was being crafted.

Welcome to the forum.

Ask tdesorbaix.

They have a zimlet like that available (even if not published anywhere).

Smile Translate from Francais to English

I took French in high school!
Can you imagine a high school classroom full of Texans learning to speak French at an all male Prep school. Some of the accents I still remember Parlez vous?
Je ne parle pas..

I would be glad to assist with translation.

B.T.W. I have the code completed in Outlook 2003 to be able to save emails in eml format. Code works for one email or multiple highlighted emails in the Inbox.
It would be my pleasure to share provided I can get Zimbra Zimlet to be able to do the same thing.

Surely, that really seems like "collaboration" to me.

Thanks,
F~

-Haven't heard from those 2 in a while, tried to get in touch a bit ago ago as well, but they are a provider and can get busy. If I don't hear anything in PM/IM/Email this week I'll attach the old fbackup zimlet. I would really prefer that the original authors post it, but in the interest of an open source community I might just have to help it along.
-However, you can still make use of the REST methods listed in that thread to manually download .eml messages.

Thanks for proposing your help but I ll translate myself, and I already have someone to correct me.
My zimlet doesn't save in eml format. You can easily use REST to save a single mail .eml in a zip file.
Use a url like this : http://server.domain.com/user/~/?id=502&fmt=zip (502 is the id of the mail).
My zimlet save the body of the mail with some information like date and expeditor and save it in a .txt file, without the attachments of course.

Default About StarXpert:Save

I have StarXpert:Save on Zimbra NE 5.0.1 running on Mac OS X Server 10.4.11.

When I am in Firefox 2, 3 or Safari 3.1, dragging a message onto the zimlet springs open a window with no contents. In Firefox, the window just stays open and blank, but in Safari it tries to download a file called save.jsp which in my text editor is blank. Is there a problem with my platform that is causing this or a version issue?

Everything else works--double-click the zimlet to set the settings, right-click exporting a default mailbox is beautiful. I need to help my users make .eml files if possible.

Thanks for any and all help,
Chris @ DPM

I haven't tested it on MAC OS X Server, and I haven't any actually, sorry.
Since save.jsp which in your text editor is blank I would say it is the platform that is not compatible with the zimlet's source code in the jsp.

Does the subject of the mail you was saving containing accents?

If you prefer .eml to a readable txt file I can try to make another zimlet that get the mails in .eml in a zip file with the drag'n'drop. To tell you the truth this would be a lot more easier to do than the one that save mails in txt files. And compatible with every platform.
I just need to find some time to do it.

Default Zimlet to save .eml on local drive

Our business place would be more likely to use .eml files, as that is what some of them are used to in Outlook.

Let me know if you ever find that 'free time' (that is hard to come by.)
