Default [SOLVED] simple rul zimlet ?

From my understanding initially, the url zimlet deployed by a default install would give you a mini-window with an image of the contents of that url.

But what we would like to is a simple url generator. That is, if standard text message contains an url, it would automatically make it a clickable, as a similar functionality in most mail clients (thunderbird for example).

I did enable the zimbra url zimlet for a couple of users via the admin gui (disabled by default for that particular cos), but it doesn't seem to work at all (not even giving me the thumbnail images).

Any ideas ? Thank you advance...

The URL zimlet give a mini-window with an image of the contents of that url. But it automatically make it a clickable too.

Did you verified in the admin GUI that your zimlet is enabled? Not only on your users properties but on the zimlet panel too.

Argh... hitting a bug...

* Zimlet is enabled within the zimlet panel of the admin gui
* Zimlet is DISABLED for COS
* Zimlet is ENABLED (overriding COS) for the user

Zimlet doesn't work...

If I eanble it for the COS, then it works, and I can disable it for the user...

In any case, I want to disable the 'preview', which works half the time. I should be an option at most. The link should just be made clickeable, similar to what other mail clients do already.

Well you are free to modify the zimlet URL to make your own with no previews. It shouldn't be very difficult.

I looked at the zimlet. You just have to change 1 line in the file config_template.xml :
<property name="disablePreview">false</property>
into
<property name="disablePreview">true</property>

Actually not good - There's NO option to disable it. Note that I'm on 4.5 still. Must be an option on 5x ?

Yes I have it on 5.01.
Then you need to change the code of the js file.
If you can give me a link to download your version of the zimlet I can look at it for you.

Someone already invented the whell Found a bug when looking at filing a bug for what I now see (cannot enable a zimlet for a user, if the zimlet is disabled for the COS).

Bug 16014 - Remove Websnapr preview from URL zimlet

The followin thread discusses it.

Cool. But too bad no one said it before.
Anyway, whatever the version of zimbra you use, suppressing "Com_Zimbra_Url.prototype.toolTipPoppedUp = function(spanElement, obj, context, canvas) { ... };" in the js file should be enough to disable the thumbnail.
