Default Question: How to get rid of Zimlets menu bar

Is it possible to remove the "zimlets" menu from the left navigation pane ?

If a user don't need it, it is only disturbing the eye of the "mail - newbie"

Also the "small-screened" laptopusers would benefit if they could switch off unused menu panes and bars.

It is indeed a marvelous product the Zimbra team has created.

A very excited public institutional administrator in Copenhagen.

Best regards, Daniel Mersebak

There is a command line tool zimlet. Use 'zimlet listZimlets' to get the list, then use undeploy to remove them. It's per COS so you can set up certian groups of users with certian Zimlets. In a future release this will be fully controllable by the admin UI

Default Remove, or hide, the "VIEW" of the zimlets and "Tags"?

Is there a way to keep the zimlets available, but just not display them?

Also, is there a way to hide the "Tags" menu? I like tags, but just don't use them enough and prefer to just keep using folders.

Zimlets - You can either create a new COS which won't have the Zimlets or undeploy them. The former let's you have some user with Zimlets and some user's with out.

Tags - You can turn off the tags(and several other features) in the admin UI.

does "undeploy" them mean that the zimlets won't work from within any received email messages? Maybe I'm confused a bit with the zimlets. It was my understanding that the zimlets are used in the emails to do such things as maybe show a yahoo map when you hover you mouse over an addess in your email. If I undeploy them, will it remove that functionality as well or is there a way that I can just "Hide" them. I do understand what you said a few posts ago about it being controlled through a COS in the admin interface in the future. But I'm just a bit confused as to what "undeploy" actually means.

undeploy removes them. If you want to hide them, you'll need to change the zimlets themselves.

Hi to all,

I have zcs-3.1.0_GA_322

The command for listing zimlets is : zmzimletctl listZimlets
The command for removing zimlets is : zmzimletctl undeploy com_zimbra_...

I want to remove all zimlets from the left navigation pane so I undeploy :
- com_zimbra_amzn
- com_zimbra_wikipedia
- com_zimbra_ymaps
but there is always "Z Search" and I don't know which I must remove

It is called either 'query' or 'com_zimbra_xslt' depending on which version it is. It was renamed at some point so changed names.
