Default jm2e on BB 8800 problem

We have a BB 8800 (software version 4.2) on which we installed the zimbrame client. However, after filling in our server name and user account we always get to see 'malformed address'. Looking at the zimbra mailbox.log, we do not see any login attempt.

Anyone seen this before?

We run Release 5.0.1_GA_1902.UBUNTU6 UBUNTU6 NETWORK edition.

Default re: jm2e on BB 8800 problem

I had this problem as well. It coincided with Opera not working either, so I assumed it was a network issue. First, check your APN / TCP settings.

Options / Advanced Options / TCP

T-mobile
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: wap.voicestreamgprs.com
Password: <blank>

Cingular (not verified):
APN: wap.cingular
Username for APN: wap@cingulargprs.com
Password for APN: cingular1
WAP Gateway IP: 66.209.11.61
WAP Gateway Port: 9203

If that fails, try pulling the battery for a few seconds.

Thanks for the replies! But what went wrong has to do with our mobile provider in The Netherlands, KPN, who apparently do not provide an open internet connection if you have a Blackberry. The web browsers works though, but I guess they proxy the traffic.

Default General error "tunnel failure"

I've just downloaded the beta client for BB Curve 8800. Everything went well (via Opera). Upon attempting the first connection, I received the following error:

A general error has occurred. Open tunnel - failure.

It's in a red background.

(Zimbra error? Service provider (Rogers Canada) error? My error?)

Guidance would be appreciated.

Bruce

Did you allow the application access to the net?

Default BB Curve now working

Thanks for the reply...I got a bit of guidance from an internal contact here, specifically:

Go to Options / Advanced Options / TCP and enter these values:

APN:internet.com
Username:wapuser1
Password:wapuser

(on the BB set-up).

I think that this is what you were suggesting.

Default Results of testing J2ME client on BB Curve

These are some notes I made during testing and evaluation of the functionality of the J2ME product on an 8800.
