[SOLVED] Cannot get past the login screen on BB

I have down loaded and installed the client. But after I have entered the server info and login info, I cannot get the client to the next step, whatever that is?

BlackBerry 8830. I am new to the BlackBerry.

Click the menu button (immediately left of the trackball), select sign in, click the trackball.
