Default Any Success Stories Upgrading Just to 7.2.1?

From the forums it seems most are moving from 7.x straight to 8. At the request of a number of our clients we are deferring upgrades to 8 (the GUI is just different enough that retraining for end users is called for) and instead planning on upgrading from 7.1.3+P1 to 7.2.1.

Would be nice to hear from others who have already upgraded to 7.2.1 as to their experience...

    Thanks!
    Mark

Hi Mark, have a ZCS 7.1.4 FOSS server that fits out needs, a couple of bugs related numeric formats prevented me going to 7.2.; i've seen a few complains regarding the same in 7.2.1 and 8.0.0, so sadly, in our case, no success story to tell.

Prefer to wait 8.0.1 to jump.

Anyways, thanks to VMware Zimbra team for an awesome suite and of course to all community members for great support!

I need the instant message option on both my Zimbra servers. I've been reading a lot about this but have no idea how I can use this option on Zimbra 8. So for now, no upgrading for me.

Bug 73298 – Error displaying time reminder on calendar events and Bug 77472 – Unable to save new appointments after creation or change them in languages which use comma (,) as decimal mark

    Thanks for your time.

    Awesome; thanks! One more question...

Still at SLES11-SP1 or did you go to SP2?

    TIA,
    Mark

stayed at sp1. apparently it doesn't affect zimbra to go to sp2 but i had no real compelling reason to do so.

Our Zimbra hosting farm and a number of our clients' dedicated Zimbra servers are on Citrix XenServer 6, which doesn't support SP2 yet; Quanah said 7.2.1 will work on either SP1 or SP2 but nice to hear for real that it does. Presumably/hopefully Citrix will support SP2 before SP1 goes EOL.

    Thanks for the update!

    All the best,
    Mark
