Zimbra and Joomla Project

Are both of the servers in the same area, ie dmz, outside? Is port 389 accessible from the Joomla server? If it can't get to the port then it won't allow Joomla to pull the users.

well, i'm not the administrator, but i can tell you, that both server are in one /30 network, so that they are neighboors.

they have the same gateway. i can access zimbra via port 389 using outlook. i don't know how to check if joomla can access this port as well. but we have installed php-ldap package.

do you know how to check this?

you can easily use another authentication method: install the plugin "authentication mailbox". this uses IMAP, NNTP or POP3 server.
