Default Nokia N95

Hi I thought it would be beneficial to start a thread for Nokia N95 users.

At present I have had no success using the Zimbra services.

I am not sure of why, but I have entered my account details into the setup wizard using standard account information.

I cannot access the webmail either - it crashes my browser!!

Anyone else experiencing the same?

The phone is capable of using IMAP as I have a .Mac email address (xxx@mac.com) - which allows IMAP access and works seamlessly.

Look forward to hearing from others please.

All the best

Costa

You haven't exactly said what the problem is. Is it an IMAP connection or mobile to an NE server? What error do you see?

Default Nokia N95 IMAP Issue

Hi,

The problem is that when i try to retrieve IMAP email body. The phone just says 'Updating mailbox' and then goes back to the list of email headers.

When using the web browser to try an login to Zimbra Webmail, the browser just crashes. It completely shuts the program down.

Hope that helps

Look forward to hearing from you

By the way I am running Zimbra OSS edition (latest) - just trying to connect using IMAP not sync'ing anything else like calendar or contacts.

Are you using IMAP or IMAP4S ?

Not being able to login with the WebUI does not seem quite strange to me, it was not designed for mobile browsers...

I have tried using both - same results.

I suspected that my ISP may block the ports but I also use a .Mac IMAP account with the default ports and it works perfectly.

IMAP4S might lead to problems with self signed SSL certificate.

You're trying to download the messages through wifi or GSM (edge, 3G, GPRS) ?

I only used SSL for completeness in trying to get the emails to work.

I am connected in Europe using 3G.

Default I can retrieve headers but not full msgs on my N95

Having same problem, I think. I am able to retrieve message headers from our Zimbra server, but when I try to read a message, I get
E-mail not retrieved yet. Retrieve now?
And then it says
Connecting to mailbox "<name of mailbox>"
And then that alert disappears and nothing else happens. It's as if I never tried to read the message.

I can also send messages from this account just fine. It's only trying to open individual messages where the problem arises.

By comparison, on my Nokia 6682 I use Profimail and am able to retrieve headers AND full messages. The only difference I can see in the settings between the two apps is Profimail says IMAP whereas the built-in email program on my N95 says IMAP4.

I've been accessing this account two different ways:
1. Cingular's MediaNet (which I guess is GPRS? 3G? I don't know, and can't find the details online) in the United States
2. Various WLANs, including WPA and WEP protected and unprotected

I'm using a Nokia N95 as well. I create a new mailbox and connect to your Zimbra-Server via Europe G3 (UMTS) with IMAPS (self signed) ... and it works. If I connect to the Mailbox the self signed certificate pops up and ask if I trust it. Thats all.

But I like to use the pushed e-mails and sync my contacts as well as my calendars. How to do that?
