Default zimbra mobile and deleting a message

in zimbra, I delete something, and it goes to the trash.

in outlook using the connector, I delete something it goes to the trash.

in windows mobile using activesync (exchange server) I delete something, and it is deleted, gone, disappeared.

On a different note, potentially we should let the user delete things or hide them on their mobile to help keep their inbox small? Also anyway to mark something as junk, from the mobile outlook?

Any ideas?

-Bryan

PS. Dont we need a separate Zimbra Mobile Forum?

Hi Bryan,

When you delete a message from the device, the message is actually moved to the Trash folder on the server. Unfortunately mobile sync protocol by design does not support sync of the Trash folder so you don't see the deleted message in the local "Deleted Items" folder after sync with server. Microsoft Exchange server behaves the same way. This is a device software limitation.

To undelete a message, you'll need to use the zimbra web UI or the Outlook connector. Once you move a trashed message back to Inbox (or other folders), it will reappear on the device after another sync.

Thanks,

J.J.
