Shared Calendar Reminders Pop up in iPad Calendar

I have a user who has another co-worker's calendar shared to his zimbra account. The reminders from the shared calendar pop up on his iPad (which drives him crazy), but the same reminders do not show up in his Outlook or on his phone.

Any ideas on how to shut these off on the iPad?

What I'm running into is I can't get my shared calendars on the iPad at all. How do I do that?!
