Default Symbian OS sync in opensource edition

Why not make Symbian PDA's and Mobile phones able to sync with Zimbra.

The protocol is open and free ?

I personally participated in websync with Nokia and ericsson phones a year ago, it is not so difficult and quite nice to have.

Since it is not license restricted why not make it available to the opensource edition ???

Sync4J is under GPL as well and has almost created every possible of synchronization between servers and PDA and mobilephones. Why not use Sync4J as a kickstarter ???

Best regards, Daniel Mersebak

Sync4J aka funambol is something we've looked at to provide both Blackberry and SyncML support. At this time it's not ready for a beta.

Eventually we'll provide SyncML support (which refer to as Synbian sync). Of course if you have a newer Symbian/Nokia Series 60 device you can use their Mail for Exchange program to sync with Zimbra Mobile.

Nope, ZimbraMobile is only available for Network customers.

On sourceforge there is a project called Z-Push.
Via this product you can also synchronise your PDA remote with different backends, but you don't additional software on your PDA, like Funambol.

Would it be possible to create a Z-Push - Zimbra backend, so I can synchronise my HTC with the Zimbra Community version?
