Default zimbra mobile sync feature

First of all I'm very pleased about the zimbra mail server!!.
As a IT engineer i advise customers/install many networks, mostly microsoft exchange servers, but my hobby is with linux.
I just installed the open source version on my vmware workstation and it's working perfectly!.

In the near future i want to use my mobile phone to sync with zimbra, unfortunatly this is not possible with this free version.

Looking at the competition like "zarafa" they offer the mobile sync in the free version as well, which is a very interesting choice!
I would like to stay at Zimbra because i really like it, but paying so much money for a single user is not a option for me.

Please reconsider to make a free/cheap version of the mobile sync option so that many open source/single users can stay at Zimbra.

Keep up the good work!!

Cheers,

Hansman.

Search the forums for the word 'funambol' or start here: http://www.zimbra.com/forums/zimbra-...nc4j-code.html

I am using Imap for mail and CalDAV for calendar on my iPhone (only since v3.0). The only difference I can tell is that the phone must fetch, rather than the server pushing.

However, I use Funambol for contacts. But that presents problems. It transfers ALL contacts to the phone. Meaning all of the captured email addresses are sent to the phone too. Someone on the forum had modified the Zimbra-Funambol connector to just pull from one folder, but I have not tried it.

So if I could figure out the contacts thing, it would be perfect, all within the FOSS version.

Nice.

Sounds good!.
I've just dowloaded all the stuff, now lets try to get this thing running

(still hoping that zimbra will give the mobile feature for FOSS, saves all the trouble.....and version updates issues ).

I you want details you should research "Exchange Activesync" as that is what Zimbra uses for synchronization. I google search will probably reveal lots of info.

OP: You're not the first one to ask for this functionality with the OSE version of Zimbra. I've seen many many threads asking for the same thing. If anything maybe they could offer one free account with the OSE, anything more than that could cut into profit and I wouldn't expect Zimbra to do that.
