Default HTC Magic sync ==> stack trace

Hi.

I've got a brand new HTC magic - which is is suppose to support ActiveSync. However, when I try to sync against Zimbra I get a stack trace in mailbox.log.

Are you trying to sync against a Zimbra Network Edition server? If you are, which release of Zimbra is it?

Sorry. This is Zimbra Standard Edition, 5.0.15_GA_2851.RHEL5_64-20090310170650.

The synchronising of mail etc. is a Network Edition only feature, you should just use an IMAP for your mail.

No, not according to Zimbra - Product Editions - "Standard Edition" is not the OSS thingy. I've been using Nokias MfE with Zimbra for at least a year.

Sorry, I misread your version. Is this only happening on that phone?

Yes. But I've got the only HTC magic in the company. "Mail for Exchange" and Sony Ericsson Activesync still works OK. I guess the problem is incompatibility with the MS ActiveSync protocol or with the MS Exchange implementation.

That would be my initial thought, I'd suggest you open a support case for confirmation.

Just got a reply from support. They said the Android plattform doesn't support ActiveSync. They obviously doesn't understand the difference between a plattform (Android) and an implementation (HTC Magic) of it. :-(

The HTC does support ActiveSync.

It shouldn't really matter what brand of phone. I assume it's Windows Mobile which shouldn't really defer from model to model. If you've paid for the "Mobile" option for your server you really shouldn't have any issue with any Windows Mobile phones. I've used WinMo 5.0, 6.0, & 6.1 on my server with no issues.

I assume the mobile option is turned on for this account your trying to sync? Figured I'd ask.
