Zimbra Mobile Installation Guide

Hi,

We're running ZCS 5.0.16 on SLES 10 sp2 and we're thinking about installing Zimbra Mobile and Zimbra Connector for BlackBerry (aka ZCB), so the bosses can sync their handhelds from anywhere.

I looked at ZCB's doc and found that it requires Windows 2003, Outlook 2007, BES and stuff. From this point, I knew what was required and how much time I expect to spend on this part.

However, I know Zimbra Mobile is required for ZCB to work. I don't know for sure if we already have it, but if we don't, we'll purchase it. The problem is that I tried to find the Installation guide, to have an idea of the requirements and the time I would need to spend on this, but didn't find anything.

Actually, is Zimbra Mobile more of a feature that has been locked through licenses, or it's additional software that needs to be installed? If it's extra software, where can I find the installation guide, along with the requirements?

zmlicense -p will tell you if you have Zimbra Mobile already purchased by stating MobileSyncEnabled=true & MobileSyncAccountsLimit=x.

Then on the COS or user you just set:

zmprov mc COSname zimbraFeatureMobileSyncEnabled TRUE

One last question: if we already have the MobileSyncEnabled filed set to true, or if we purchase and install a Zimbra Mobile license, is there anything else to install, any software, plugin or add-on?

To add a new license should you need to purchase one:

mv /opt/zimbra/conf/ZCSLicense.xml /opt/zimbra/conf/ZCSlicense.xml.backup
chown zimbra.zimbra /tmp/ZCSLicense.xml
su - zimbra
zmlicence -i /tmp/ZCLicense.xml
zmmailboxdctl restart

If your missing the checkbox for it in the admin console start by:

cd /opt/zimbra/zimlets-network
zmzimletctl deploy com_zimbra_mobilesync.zip
