Default Blackberry Curve without BES

I have a user that has a Blackberry Curve. We're running Zimbra 5.0.11. We're not running BES. I've tried the J2ME application, but it freezes up every time he tries to load it.

Currently, I have a shortcut to mail.domain.com/m/ on his desktop.

Does anyone have a better idea for Zimbra on the Curve?

Default Check out Notifysync

Hi,

In answer to your question we use Notifysync with Blackberry and Zimbra. It works very well. Check out NotifySync - Blackberry Activesync
as they offer free trials and we were up and running in about 5 minutes after download.

Cheers

We use AstraSync as NotifySync did not work when we tested it and we waited too long (more than 3 weeks) to get an answer from support...

Astrasync doesn't offer half the features that Notifysync supports.

With Notify I can get all my inbox/sent folders and the software seems much more polished.

I can't fault the Uk support guys as they seemed to know how to solve all issues I had very quickly.

How long ago did you try Notifysync?

In France, first level support and sells are made through a third party company in Swiss.
When we raised a case (with attached logs, etc), they could not do anything that forwarding it to the US and wait for Notify support to answer.

The only answer that came back was a new version of the product, several weeks later and without knowing if it would solve the issue.

We tried to get it working for a couple of days.

As it was totally unable to sync from the BB to the server, we dropped it : when we created a calendar item on the BB, it would never sync to the server (we tried with two devices, we fully reset them, we tried on a couple ZCS accounts and servers).

I'm aware it looks "nicer" than AstraSync.
But AstraSync, that is not officially supporting ZCS works while NotifySync, when we tested it didn't...
And AstraSync support is much more responsive than Notify's one.

Unless you are just wanting a push email, I just set up the email through the curve itself. No software needed.
