Default Quick question for iPhone peeps

I have a new employee who will be starting soon. We normally supply a WinMo phone to employees, but this person has an iPhone and really wants to keep it. So I figure fine, we'll give her an allowance and I know it will sync with my Zimbra, My question is, what iPhone version do I want to me sure her phone is at before I attempt to get it to sync with my Zimbra system? Any other gotchas I should look out for?

Thanks!
