Default Solved!

I answer to myself.

I found in other forums (I think that was in funambol forge forums). That you need a base64 conversion.

You can do it from the Funambol Administration Tool > Server Settings > Data transformer manager [Click on Configure button]
There add into the last table (Data Transformation) the row scal / b64 pair.

With that, Zimbra calendar syncs well with blackberry Calendar, but not yet the notes and events.

Last edited by gcastro : 02-04-2009 at 12:10 AM. Reason: With b64 transformation there are still sycns that doesn't work.

I have downloaded the sources of the connector from Sourceforge and rebuild/reinstall it in Funambol. For this, I installed the debian non-free package "sun-java5-jdk" and deleted the line 488 in /root/zimbrafunambol/src/java/ru/korusconsulting/connector/funambol/ContactUtils.java

I think that that line was not the cause, but I hate warning messages

The problem is probably linked to the JVM version I was using before rebuilding the connector.
hi,
yesterday igot my new Nokia E71 and tried the included Sync function (no funambol client)

zimbra 5.0.11
sync is alright but i have the duplicate calendar entries... i tried to search across the forum .. but didn't really find something...
any help would be cool... i think the phone is doing a "full-sync" every time
<solution>
after some tests... i find a solution for me:
seems to be only a problem on the fist initial sync...
i cleared he whole main calendar - synced - imported the previosly exported ics again!
synced again - and its okay now!

Hi,
thanks for all the forums entries.
Zimbra 5.0.13 with ZimbraConnector 0.5.01 and Funambol 7.06 is now working here.
I am using a K610i moible phone without the funambol client, just the build in sync options and some Blackberries.

I am only wondering where the differenc between stask and task, and scard and card is at the syncing options.

And is it also possbile to sync notes?

Is there a way in zimbra to check if funambol connection is working? My phone is syncing with funambol correctly, but the dataset is not reflected in zimbra. It's like they're on seperate databases, or zimbra hasn't ever sync'd with funambol.

I can't think of how i can do a check on zimbras end.

If you don't have it running on the same server does the Funambol box need to be in the DMZ if the Zimbra server is?

As far as I know SOAP messages (so HTTP or HTTPS) are passed between Zimbra and Funambol. If you want to sync over the Internet I'd place the Funambol server in the DMZ.

...wow, zimbra and funambol were working fine for like the past two weeks, running perfectly.

suddenly my calendar wouldnt update. it would sync, and the sync would complete but new stuff wouldnt come off my phone into zimbra. however it would go from zimbra to my phone.

then it stopped working altogether, with the logs producing stuff like:

Code:
java.lang.NumberFormatException: null
at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:415)
at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:497)
at ru.korusconsulting.connector.funambol.CalendarUtils.getTimeZone(CalendarUtils.java:1346)
at
ru.korusconsulting.connector.funambol.CalendarUtils.correctTimeZone(CalendarUtils.java:1247)
at
ru.korusconsulting.connector.funambol.CalendarUtils.getDateProperty(CalendarUtils.java:1110)
at ru.korusconsulting.connector.funambol.CalendarUtils.asCalendar(CalendarUtils.java:721)
in (what was a regrettable move) i cleared the log file and restarted funambol suspecting it to be causing problems, and resynced.

...and now my zimbra calendar, and my phone calendar is ****ing gone. totally gone. 0 records on both phone calendar and zimbra.

wooo.

is there any way to automate consecutive backups of zimbra DB's so this sh*t doesnt happen again. apologies about swearing but i spent a whole f**ing year researching what products I could use to replace activesync from doing EXACTLY what has happend and now im rapidly loosing faith in every PIM product on this planet. And microsoft still havent fixed their issues dispite me taking it up with the coding team personally.

Ok. Thanks. My next question then would be what ports would need to be open in my firewall if any so my phones can get back to the server?

Currently starting a deployment of Zimbra 5.0.13 with the recently released Funambol 7.1.0. Syncing appears to be a 50/50 situation- I've had successful results with tasks, calendars, and address books, but it's rare that every sync session completes without one (or more) failing at some point with a '511 to command SyncHdr []' error from the server.

BB clients are using the funambol 7.0.7 client and I'm using a recently compiled 0.5.1 ZimbraConnector.

My error log is attached if anybody can offer any help. Obviously our users aren't dead in the water since syncing happens on occasion, but I was hoping it would be more consistently reliable.

Hey guys,

I can get Funambol (running on my Curve 8900 as well as my Storm 9500) to work, BUT whenever a fresh/or an modified contact gets synced (direction doesn't matters) I end up having that contact as an _empty_ one on my device. And empty means, empty so there's not even the freaking name left.
Anybody got some ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

I'm getting old on the entire SyncML stuff...

Advice would be highly appreciated, even if it's just for the sake of bringing this thread back to life.

- Johannes
