Motorola Q9c, WM6 and activesync battery life

I'm testing out a Verizon Motorola Q9c and syncing with Zimbra seems to work quite nicely. The problem is battery life appears to be quite poor using activesync with Zimbra Mobile on this device. The battery drained 50% after 8 hours with no voice calls usage and activesync on at default settings. I'm not sure if this is something specific to the Q9C, typical of all Windows Mobile 6 devices or an issue specific to Zimbra. In comparison my Blackberry 8830 is still at 90% charge over the same time period. Please chime in if you have a Q9 or other WM device and post your experience with activesync battery life.
