Default connect to mail from cell with imap/pop

i have a cell phone with imap and pop email on it.
i have zimbra oss 5.0.7 installed on my ubuntu server.

i can't seem to connect to my email account on my phone.
these are the settings that i am using:

username: user@domain.com
password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

email address: user@domain.com

incoming mail server: mail.domain.com
incoming mail server port: 143

outgoing mail server: mail.domain.com
outgoing mail server port: 25

outgoing username: user (i also tried user@domain.com)
outgoing password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

these settings give me a server connect error.

can anyone help me with this please?

Have you setup your account in a desktop email client before? If you have, it will be the same settings.

My guess is that you need to turn on SSL to connect to the IMAP server, but that depends upon how you have configured your server.

the palm treo connects fine. but my HELIO Ocean does not.
I have it use ssl and tried with both ports 143 and 993 and now it tells me that email sign-in failed. please re-enter the correct username and password combination.
