Default [SOLVED] iPhone and Zimbra Mobile Exchange

I have an iPhone (with 2.0 firmware), we use Zimbra Network Edition here and had upgraded to 5.0.8. I have been using IMAP for my mail account here on my iPhone. I read that with the new Zimbra Mobile there is exchange support and I can receive push from my mail server here.

I have tried the setup that i saw on the zimbra blog but account verification failed. Is there something I am doing wrong? I read the blogs and it seems everyone is using activesync with this. However I am on a Mac and do not have the ability to use active sync. What should I do?

oh and here are my mail settings I am attempting to use and getting the verification failed error message.

Email: trowan[at]domain.com
Server: mail.domain.com
Username: trowan
Password: password

Thanks for any help.

saw the same when doing the first tests.

just ignore the message about Exchange account verfication failed, click Next, Save. choose mail, contacts, calenders, whatever you like, do save again.
you should be back at the accounts overview, open the account just created, go into Account Info and turn off SSL at the bottom.

this is what helped on a test setup we have in use without SSL. ipod touch/iphone always tries to use SSL by default.

still not working. Could it be something on our end? Just checked again and we do have 5.0.8. I skipped the verification failed prompt and turned off ssl. When i goto the mailbox i just see the inbox (with nothing in it) and no other folders. Then i tried to send myself an email and still nothing.

Have you switched on mobile support for that account in the zimbra admin interface (Features pane)?
