Question Zimbra 5 better in mobile stuff than 4.5?

Hi guys,

We're having loads of problems syncing zimbra on our mobile phones... we're still running 4.5 (because we're still on OpenSuSe), but we're thinking of upgrading to 5. What I want to know: Does Zimbra 5 include improvements on the mobile part?

Is there / will there be a way to set up mobile phones that they will only sync e-mail while online through internet but sync everything while connected directly to a computer?

Thanks in advane

what kind of problems do you have with 4.5? 5 does have some improvements but nothing major.

Mixing sync over the air and sync over usb is not recommended. Thanks!

We got stuff like some of our mobile phones unable to connect to the server... no matter if we use a secure or insecure connection, we're just getting errors or even phone crashes (might also be the phone, but it's a treo 750, those should work flawlessly). But we're replacing those phones (because of this) so that shouldn't be much of an issue any longer.

Mostly we get problems syncing: timeouts and such. A lot has to do with the amount that has to be synched, but the president of our company has everyone's calendars in his outlook, and those all sync so it creates huge traffic (jams). And for some reason, e-mail is done last: will it be possible to change the order?

That sorta stuff..

The order of sync, whether email first or calendar first, is up to the phones. Server has no control over that.
