Question palm treo 680 - Mailbox out of sync; device must reset

Hi all,

I just tried to sync a palm treo 680 with zimbra (no self signed ssl cert) and it only syncs the emails but not calendar / address book.
Sync log shows me:

Code:
2007-08-24 15:56:43,908 WARN  [http-80-Processor79] [name=email@mydomain.tld;mid=64;DeviceId=PLMO352705010668505;DeviceType=PalmOneTreoAce;SyncCmd=GetItemEstimate;] sync - Mailbox out of sync; device must reset;
 clientversion=9; serverversion=13/14
what does "device must reset" mean?
There is a lot of data on this palm and several (other then zimbra) email accounts. Is there a way just to reset for the zimbra account?

Kind Regards
Andre

Usually this means something happened to the server account. If you keep saying yes on the client it will do a full resync.

Hi,

what could this "something" be? There are two isync connectors and a palm which sync this account.
I can not say "yes" on the palm as I only get a "failed" and do not have the option to say "yes"......

Any ideas?

Kind Regards
Andre

In that case please do a resync manually. Follow the steps given by Mobile Device Setup - ZimbraWiki

thanks for that, I'll give it a go tomorrow when I have access to the palm again. But doing a full resync leads to another question. Is there a way to delete appointments "older then ...." in zimbra. For this account I have approx. 3000 appointments that are in the past and I really do not need to sync them to the palm again.

Cheers
Andre

There is no easy way to physically delete old appointments in your server account. However by default you don't really sync all the appointments to your palm device. If I'm not mistaken VersaMail 3.5 (the sync client in 680) by default does not download any appointment older than 2 weeks. That is unless you changed that setting to sync everything.
