Default Removing display name from sent mail

Is there any way to stop the Display Name being sent in mail?

I'm currently setting up a new Zimbra server (OS 4.5.4) to provide mail for staff and students in a school. We have 2 domains set in Zimbra, domain.com and students.domain.com, using a shared GAL. Due to child protection issues we cannot include students names in either their addresses or e-mails. For addresses we use randomly generated numbers, and this makes an easily searchable GAL (with accurate display name) vital.
The problem is that the Display Name is used in the FROM field (Eg: A Student <6478912@students.domain.com> ) of sent mail, which negates the obfuscated addresses. Is there any way to change this? Preferably on a per domain basis.

I've looked through the adminUI and searched the forum but havn't found an answer.

You can set the first and last name as the number. Then just change the note field, and pop in the real name, so that the outside world doesn't see it.

Thanks for the quick reply. While that does produce the desired effect of not revealing real names to the outside world, it also makes it much harder to find a specific user in the GAL, as when multiple matches are found, the list only contains numbers, not names. The GAL needs to be easy to search as we will have ~600 users between 9 and 13, and things that aren't intuitive don't tend to fair very well.
