Do you have selinux enabled (This should be off -not just warning mode- fully disabled)
Find it via the installed packages list, or something like /etc/sysconfig/selinux

Once you had gotten all your settings worked out (selinux off & reboot) start with a clean reinstall (follow the uninstall directions first)

If you get errors when you do so can you post your zmsetup.log.#### (some numbers will be on the end)

Somehow, SElinux was Reinabled.

Postfix is our only problem now.

Host mail.mpseast.com
antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Stopped
postfix is not running
snmp Running
spell Running

If you're wondering, this is one of the classmates of the 8th grade student.

Edit: Two postfix Folders, One with a version number, and one without, cd'ing to the one with produces postsuper: fatal: scan_dir_push: open directory defer: Permission denied
postfix/postfix-script: fatal: Postfix integrity check failed!

[root@mail ~]# cd /opt/zimbra/libexec
[root@mail libexec]# ./zmfixperms
chown: cannot access `/opt/zimbra/perdition-1.17': No such file or directory
[root@mail libexec]#

This is where we're at now, I googled and found a Bugzilla entry, yet it wasn't very helpful to me in explaining the issue at hand.

Edit: Postfix run in a terminal gives.

postsuper: fatal: scan_dir_push: open directory defer: Permission denied
postfix/postfix-script: fatal: Postfix integrity check failed!
[root@mail ~]#

Today a student came in and disabled sendmail and did the permissions thing to postfix and.. WOOT! it now works!!

I am truley impressed. Not only has this enforced that when things get hard we cant give up. It has shown them that there is literaly nothing they can't do if they apply themselvs.

Thanks for the help.

I am sure they will be posting asking questions on how to configure it correctly to get the most out of the opensource eddition.

I can not express how greatful I am to you for helping my students.
It has been a great experiance for them all.

nice-yup having another mail program running will do it

I'm glad they got it working on their own-it would feel like cheating otherwise

I'm gonna mark this thread as solved-welcome to the zimbra experience!
