Hello, you wrote that you had a trail of 2007 pre-installed. That is interesting, I had this problem on a machine w/ 2007 as well. I un-installed 2007, and installed 2003. This machine had this issue. Strange.

yes and that is exactly what I thought. I am very sure that it has to do with outlook 2007 or more so microsoft sql 2005 installed on both of these machines. These are the only common factors. What I have now found on the vista machine is that after turning off all UAC controls and basically giving access to "everyone" on the HDD I can get it to install under my (domain admin) account but noone elses. I am now just wiping vista off that pc as I have ran into too many other compatibility issues. I am still baffeled by the xp box however. Unfortunetly this is a users personal laptop and he has purchased office 2007 to use and obviously doesnt want it just wiped out.

Did you ever come to a solution on your box?

Default DLLs not copied into system32

I had the same issue of the Zimbra Outlook connector installation dying while trying to install against Vista Business and Outlook 2007. I perused the .inf file per suggestions here, but it looked correct. I finally realized that, for some reason, the installer was not copying the LSM*.DLL files into the system32 directory. They were in the 1033 directory with the .inf file but not in the system32 directory. I did have UAC turned off when I attempted the install. Anyway, copying those files from the 1033 directory into the system32 directory allowed me to then go into my Mail control panel and properly create the Zimbra profile. Outlook 2007 finished the initial sync of my profile a few minutes ago and seems to be quite happy now.

My question, therefore, is it looks like the files *should* be in the system32 directory, since the other DLL files referenced in that .inf file are there. Is there some reason the installer didn't do that? This was with the 4.5.8 GA installer.

4.5.x doesn't support outlook 2007. the installer for 5.0 does the right thing.
