Errors installing Outlook Connector

Is the installer run as a user with local admin permissions?

If so, run the installer from the command line and have it generate a log file (use msiexec.exe with the /l option). Post the log file here please.

Hello, I'm having the exact same problem. I am using Win XP, with the latest OlkConnector from our download console. I have tried this with multiple users on this machine (all admin accounts). They all fail. I ran the command line msiexec command from Run:

msiexec /i "C:\Documents and Settings\MyUser\Desktop\jv\zcon.msi" /Lime C:\dell\logfile.txt

That is why connection cannot be installed.
Also it wont work too.

Note if you will edit this file. It is true UNICODE file so don't corrupt it using improper editor (Notepad should do the trick).
I compiled this content for you. Added necessary entries.
You can back your current version and replace content with provided there.

Another note ZCO should be installed before you will replace the content.
After you replace you can reinstall ZCO.

!!!! Attention for those who tries to solve similar problems by replacing mapisvc.inf file !!!!!
You SHOULD NOT DO that. That may break installation of some third party providers if they are installed.
That version was compiled for the very version of truncated mapisvc.inf file that was posted earlier.

I have an installation of 4.5.6.1023.4.5.288 that failed during the installation and requests a re-installation. Re-installing also shows an interrupted install and repeats. I also installed the Microsoft tool recommended above, however the list does not include the ZCO application for removal. How can this be removed and what might be causing it hang up during the installation process?

I too have had this show up on two computers today....never seen it before. I am pasting the text from the inf on the computer that is running xp sp2. The other is a vista basic. Both are fresh installs with no software other than office and norton on the xp machine. The one thing that I am curious about is that the vista machine had a trial ver of office 2007 wiht sql 2005 installed. I wiped 07 out and installed 03. The xp machine also has 07. I have not had to load the zco on a pc with 07 or microsoft sql yet and I wonder if this is the problem.

Additionally prior to finding this thread I have tried completely disabling the firewall and the antivirus. I also disabled the windows defender on the vista machine which seemed to allow the install of the connector (4.5.7 and 4.5.6) to go a little further, however I am still recieving the failed instalation.

Please help asap.

and post them there.
