Task Support?

The roadmap mentions that Task support is enabled in the latest (4.5) releases, and basic tasks seem to work. However, users are unable to send task requests to each other. When they try, they get the message "Could not complete the operation because the service provider does not support it."

Is this supposed to work? Do I need to do something on the server, or do I need to wait for a new release?

Task requests are not supported by ZCO. Please file an enhancement request in bugzilla.

I see a great deal of action on the bugzilla case for tasks, it looks like the guys at zimbra are really pulling out all the stops to make this one work.

Any idea when it will be released?

There's the RFE, and it looks like it has 5 votes so far. Does that mean it could be in the next release?

Task requests are slated for the 6.0 release. The 5.0 release is what we are currently working on.

Sorry to be dense, but where/how do you get to the basic tasks app in the web client (or is this only available in outlook/connector)?

Task support is not yet available in the web ui, it's scheduled for the next major release - due shortly.

Task support has been available in ZCO since the early 4.5 days. You can create tasks in Outlook, and they will sync to the server, where the data will be preserved. Subsequent initial syncs will bring these tasks back to Outlook. Also, then, you can sync tasks between Outlooks. It's just that there is no Web Client UI for tasks. That's coming in 5.0.
