Default Downloading GAL Failed

Hi,

I am running ZCO 4.5.2 and getting the following error. Can anyone explain me what/why the problem is? What I should do to fix this problem?

use ZcoLogCtl, enable logging and inspect the response of the GalSyncRequest.

Hi,

I enabled the logging and the http logging. Now I could not find any errors. Does it mean the problem was solved?

I've got the same result since a few days, here is what I get in logs :

08-07-2008 17:10:06.351 [3824]: Zimbra::Sync::GalSynchronizerImpl::SyncThreadProc: Response parsed with error code hr = 0x80004005
08-07-2008 17:10:06.351 [3824]: Zimbra::Sync::GalSynchronizerImpl::SyncThreadProc: Exiting sync thread because of fail hr = 0x80004005


My GAL is from an External LDAP configured as Internal&External in the administration panel.

I also heared that the connector downloads all entries from the GAL, but if there are more than 100k in the GAL, will every user have to download that much quantity of contacts ?

Is it not possible to do as Exchange do on Outlook ? I never had to download any contacts but I can have access to the global adress list when beeing online, any ideas ?

you would have to send us more logs to diagnose. best way might to be to open a support case about this. we download the GAL for offline use.

Is it possible to have a second outlook connector that would not download the complete GAL ?

This problem is blocking in my company because every user has to download a 100K+ contact list and the openldap behind that can not afford to give that much results in a single request. My users wouldn't complain if they have no access to the GAL in offline mode.

Would it be possible to have a GAL in Outlook that is not downloaded but available in online mode only ?
