outlook connector sending large attachment emails

Setup: using zimbra connector with outlook. User attaches a 2-3mb file, addresses it, and hits send in outlook.

The mail compose window, outlook, and windows itself is then frozen for the next 5 minutes while the email is sent out.

User can alt - tab to other apps.

Previous scenario is use was using pop mail, message would simply be queued and send in the background. Anyway to get outlook with the connector to do that?
