Default new contacts not appearing in auto-complete?

I'm running ZCS Network Edition 4.0.2 with Connector version 4.0.236.

Zimbra contacts that existed before the initial outlook sync appear to work fine. Any other contacts added after this appear in the contacts list in Outlook but do not auto-complete when typing in the To: address field. Additionally, if I hit the "To:" button to show the "Select Names" box the added contacts do not appear in this list at all.

It doesn't matter if the new contact was created via Outlook or via the Zimbra web client. This issue appears to be affecting everyone in our organisation and is rather annoying.

Is this a known issue?

looks like your contacts folder is not appearing in the address book chooser dialog. try this:

right click on contacts folder->properties->outlook address book

ensure the 'show this folder as an e-mail Address Book' checkbox is checked.

Hi Sam,

Yes that option was checked. All other contacts in the "Contacts" folder, that were originally imported into Zimbra, are appearing in the "Select Names" list.

maybe your nickname cache is corrupt:

Wow, thats definately done something.

I have renamed the Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Zimbra.NK2 file to something else and restarted Outlook. Now the new contacts appear in the "Select Names" list, so thats a good start.

Now if I type in the full name Outlook recognises it, but I've lost the drop-down auto-complete box for some reason.

But that's definately put me in the right direction.

Thanks Sam!

the dropdown displays the contents of the nickname file. it builds up over time as you send messages to different recipients.

Just to confirm, a sync with the zimbra server should not clear the nickname cache.

The nickname cache is not touched at all during a ZCS Connector 4.5 operation right?

correct, thats an internal outlook data file that ZCO doesn't do anything with.
