Do you think it's worth submitting as a bug ? It's not exactly busy in this thread. Perhaps I'll wait until the next point release before acting.

I do now have working copies of the files. Just not accessible from the normal place.

Sure, you're welcome. It probably wouldn't hurt to submit a bug report. I've seen some occasions in the forums where an issue crops up in Ubuntu that doesn't affect other platforms. So it could be a real issue, just not one that's hit very many people yet (if, say, you need to be running Ubuntu plus the patch on 7.1.3).
