Default Outlook 03/10x64 crashing upon upgrade to ZCO 7

I am having a difficult time hammering down the issue. New profiles, new installs of both Outlook and ZCO do not fix the problem. When entering user mailbox data and hitting "Apply" or "OK", Outlook (or rundll32 if I'm creating it through control panel > Mail) crashes. I've tried about every setting I can think of, but am running out of ideas.

It appears to work fine on computers that have never been touched with Zimbra's connector before. Thoughts?

Is there any core dump generated in your temp directory under zco-cores?

Also, you can set ZCO logging on and see if the log file produces anything.

Yes there is. It was unhelpful to me, but I'll post it.

I seem to have at least been able to side-step the issue. Upon enabling ZCO logging in ZCOLogCtl, I noticed a "Configure Proxy Settings" option. It was set to "IE Settings for Proxy Server", but when I change it to "Establish a Direct Connection with Zimbra" I am able to configure using ZCO and Outlook starts fine.

In ZCO I had tried both pertinant options (IE Proxy and no proxy), and we do not use proxies at all at our location. Might this be a bug of some sort?

Could be. We shouldn't be crashing, that's for sure.

I've done some additional testing, and all that is needed on all of out machines to prevent ZCO from crashing is to open ZCOLogCtl and then close it. Is there a file that is changed upon opening ZCOLogCtl?

Wow -- that's good info. I've never heard of this before, and unless it has to do with the registry, I don't think there is any file that gets changed by opening and closing ZCOLogCtl. I'll look into it.

Thank you for looking into it for me. Best I can tell no files are being changed when it is open.

Interesting. It does look to be crashing during a wsprintf statement prior to writing a trace in the logfile. Now that it works, it would be interesting if you sent a ZCO (or rundll) log file of when you do this. Strange.
