| | | Outlook Connector not compatible with ZCS version Hi,
We have just upgraded to ZCS Network Edition 7.0. After the upgrade the connectivity with our Outlook clients failed (we have upgraded to the new outlook connector with the ZCS version 7 edition) saying that the ZCS version is not compatible with the Outlook connector. As I understand it, this message appears when either the licence has expired or when not using a licence for professional edition licences.
Our licences has not expired and we are not using the open source version of ZCS and our licence is for 15 professional edition mailboxes.
Also, in the web admin interface the following message is displayed where approriate:
"NOTE: Settings only apply to servers that have the appropriate service(s) installed and enabled. Server settings override global settings."
I did compare our current licence with the the expired one and noted that in the old one the parameter MAPIConnectorAccountsLimit is set to '15' whilst to '0' in the new licence. We did purchase an identical licence to that of the old one.
Is it the entry mentioned above that is causing our outlook clients to fail to connect? And, if so, why did the new licence work at all prior to upgrading to the new ZCS version 7 version?
When I contact Zimbra sales they simply say this is a support issue and do not want to comment on the MAPIConnectorAccountsLimit entry. The issue I have though is that with our licence we do not get support!
Any help would be appreciated

I've attempted to report it at support.zimbra.com, but the licence details there are out of date, because of the ridiculous requirement that I buy a new licence every year, rather than renew the existing one. In addition, the ticket I just filed doesn't appear under "Case Management".
Since the support system doesn't work, please answer the question here.
EDIT: The case has just appeared now. Can you confirm that, as 15 user licence holders, we will be entitled to a response? As the OP has suggested, we have been led to believe that we aren't.

| | | I opened a support case with Zimbra Support and got the same reply as dahamsta. I then replied and stated that we have a licence for 15 professional mailboxes and, as such, should have the connector for outlook functionality and included a copy of our old and new licence where it shows clearly that the old licence allows for the outlook connectivity whilst the new one does not. I expect the licence to be the same when i renew it!
I then got a response from the support team stating that I should get in touch with sales which I did. I there explained the case (again!) and was in the end given a new licence with the "MAPIConnectorAccountsLimit" parameter set to 15.
I also received an apology from the sales team indicating that the licence should indeed have included outlook connectivity from the outset. Now when other people are having the same issue it seems that changes have indeed been made to this type of licence rather than an error in isolation occurring with ours. It is therefore misleading on the Zimbra licence webpage where it is clearly stated that the licence in questions grants 15 professional mailboxes that indeed include the connector for outlook connectivity!
Things are working fine now however after receiving the new licence file. |

I'm in the process of getting an other 1700 licenses, but If I have to pay for 2 licenses per user using outlook I WILL HAVE TO re-consider ZCS ..
I really hope we can work this out .. I LOVE ZCS.. but the clients dont like to pay extra for what they had in the past ..   |
