Default Outlook 2010 64-bit Connector

I'm pretty desperate to get the Outlook 2010 64-bit Connector working with our Zimbra 6.08 NE. Is there a way to get a hold of a beta before the projected general release in December or January?

Well -- we have a beta program for it. You can email beta-zcs@zimbra.com with your primary contact name, email, company name and product (version + platform). Then we can add you to the Beta list.

This is really designed for ZCS/ZCO 7.0, since 7.0 is the version this works under, and we generally don't support ZCO running against earlier servers, but it should work for the most part with 6.0.8. There are some new features that probably won't work. Of course, we're not testing against 6.0.8 at all.

So I recommend moving to 7.0. But we can still put you on the beta.

Hi Steve,

Where you able to get it to work?

I'm having the same problem with a customer who bought a laptop (64) with office 2010 (64 bit).

Regards

J

Did anyone get the Zimbra Outlook Connector for 7.0. I have a user who has to use 64-bit office for an engineering program and I need the 64-bit connector. If anyone has a link to it I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi there,

If you have a Zimbra 7 installation you can use following link:
http://yourdomain/zimbra/downloads/index.html

There you can download the Zimbra Connector for Microsoft Outlook (32 & 64)

my problem is solved in any case.

Regards

J

as far as i can understand reading this thread, until now 10 March 2011, there is no 64 bits Outlook Connector for Zimbra 6.x.x, i need to upgrade this Zimbra 6.0.10 to 7.0.1, correct?

I read somewhere that the 7.0 connector will work with 6.0, but you don't get all the 7.0 features. I am still trying to find the 7.0 connector without having to install 7.0.

Outlook 2010 support is a 7.0 feature. We don't support newer ZCOs with older servers, as the newer connector could be making a server call that didn't exist in the earlier version. That being said, a lot of times, you can run, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

clear & clean
only 2 questions:
1. Outlook 2010 support is a 7.0 feature => Outlook 2010 64 bits is already supported or we have to wait for it?
2. i will upgrade ZCS NE Professional from 6.0.12 to 7.0.1 this weekend; on monday morning, when workers will be back at work, outlook connector 6 will function at some level? in the meanwhile we will start to upgrade outlook connector, too...

thnx for your clean answers
