Default The installer was interrupted...

Hi.

I have a serious problem with my zimbra connector. When I try to install it is interrupted and tells me that it cannot be completed. I have searched for hours to try to find a solution but nothing seems to work. Please help.

This is what I have tried:

1. Removed reg files.
2. Updated MAPISVC.inf file (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033) with info from this thread:
Errors installing Outlook Connector "Henry's fix".

It might be interesting for you to know that:
1. When I try to install version 5.0.19 it tells me that a newer version is installed.
2. When I try to install version 6.0.4 it gives me the opinion to repair or remove but it is also interrupted.
3. The version I am trying to install is 6.0.7

I'm using windows 7 64 bit and office 2010 32 bit

This is the log I get when I install it:

Default same problem - install interupted

Hello,

any update on this?

having same problem, on same configuration

Windows 7 64bit, Outlook 2010 32bit.

i have tried turning off virus/etc. login as actual admin instead of just my regular account which is an admin, tried running in compatibility mode.

the download itself is fine, i was able to install on a Vista laptop running outlook 2010 from the same exact MSI file, so the file is not corrupt.

thanks,

Scott

I've seen other posts on this (this forum and wix), and I don't think this has ever been resolved. I assume this is only on one machine. Do you have any weird custom forms you use on that machine? I assume you've tried to uninstall and reinstall.

The only other thing I can think of is for you to manually get rid of everything. That's pretty tricky, but might work. You have to search your registry for everything that has "ZCS Connector for Outlook". If you find that as a value, you need to delete the corresponding key. Sometimes you have to delete a subtree. Then you have to manually get rid of our dlls. Not for the squeamish.

Once you do that, you can install again.

I've tried to search the registry for anything with zimbra or zcs a.s.o. this is the problem: I cannot find anything more. Still, of course there is, as the installer mysteriously finds something! FRUSTRATION!!!
But thank you for your reply. I will search some more...

I am an advanced user, but not an IT Pro. I just built this new Windows 7 machine with office 2010 don't want to go messing with the registry.

Have you tried a repair of Office then rerun the installer? What erros do you see in the event log when the error occurs? You can try the following:

run the following commands to re-register the service:

Code:
msiexec /unregister
msiexec /regserver
turn on the verbose log when installing the Connector MSI, using the
following command:

Code:
msiexec /i [msi filename] /L*v [log filename]
See what you get from running those commands.

You can post the output here (obfuscate any sensitive data) or raise a support case and send them the data you've gathered.

SUCCESS !!!!

The MSOffice repair did the trick. Never would have thought of that since I just installed everything last week.
