Default Open calendar from user in other domain?

Hi,
we use multiple domains with ZCS.
One of them is our internal management domain with the "shared-user" (the one who shares companywide calendars and contacts).
Via WebInterface, I can open and use the shared-calendar without problems.
But Outlook won't let me open it, because it's not in the address list (different domain than my outlook user's domain).
How can I make Outlook open a mailbox which is not in the same domain like me?
Thanks!
Sascha

Hello?
Can anybody please tell me at least if it's possible or not?

Microsoft only lets you authenticate to one domain at a time. Usually, people do just the opposite of what you want to do - they want to restrict domains from seeing each other.

Assuming you have a domain foo.com that is not available from Outlook, I guess you can try this server command: (only available at the command line):

zmprov md foo.com zimbraGalInternalSearchBase ROOT

Then users in foo.com should be able to see your other domain. Not sure how good an idea this is, but I think this would work.

Let me know.

Asking the other way around:

Is there some kind of best practice to have two domains with each it's own users but same GAL and a global holiday-calendar?

I'm not sure about two domains having the same GAL. But changing the zimbraGalInternalSearchBase to ROOT would let one internal GAL see the other one on the same server. Then Outlook should see all the users.

I could put all users in one domain and change the from-address accordingly.
So all users would have access to GAL and calendars.

But this brings the next problem: a modified FROM-address on the first persona is not used by Zimbra Outlook Connector. It displays the modified email-address, but does not use it. If this would work, I'd like to do it that way, but the from-address must be changeable for the first persona.
(I cannot make the users understand that they have to select another personal for every new email)

Can anybody please confirm this as a possible bug in ZOC?

Did you try this after exiting and re-entering Outlook?

Yes, I did.

Following steps:
User is Admin, with default address admin@DOMAIN1.com

1. Create alias for user in admin interface (outlook closed): admin@DOMAIN2.com
2. Open Web Interface and set alias address as FROM on DEFAULT persona
3. Open Outlook, check if FROM address is correctly displayed (-> options, settings, personas) --> admin@DOMAIN2.com is displayed - OK!
4. Send test-mail to another account --> Test-Mail was sent from user's main address (admin@DOMAIN1.com) instead of the configured alias :-(

Even when I check the box for different reply-to address, it uses the user's main address. :-(
This all seems only to happen on the DEFAULT persona.
