Cannot get the outlook connector to install

Hello,

Im running office 2007 from a windows 2003 server. When trying to install the outlook connector it tells me the installer got interrupted before it could finish.

Im using Zimbra 6.0.6.1 GA with the included outlook connector.

I had the logging running and I'll paste the last part here. Looks like the problem is that there is no mapisvc.inf?

I already tried repairing the office 2007 install, but nothing works, I keep getting this error.

Can anyone help me out?

Connect as the Administrator to the server and install the OLK via Add/Remove programs as this will put TS into Install mode.

Would you be able to setup a MAPI profile for the Administrator user and then attempt a install of the connector again ?

I already had an account setup for the administrator, but just to be sure I removed that account and created a new one via the email option in the control panel.

It gives me the same error.

Is C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 (or equivalent location, depending on locale) in your PATH environment variable?

In my case it is the 1043 directory. It wasn't in the PATH environment. I've just added it, and tried installing it again (in install mode).

It gives me the exact same error. I'll try it again with msiexec, to see if the logs still report the same errors.

I suppose it's possible your MAPI installation is not quite right, due to previous installs of things like Groupwise, etc. Running FIXMAPI sometimes fixes things like this.

Thanks for your suggestion.

The server is freshly installed, as is office 2007. It is not in use yet, untill the connector works.

I tried FIXMAPI, but after that the installer failed with the same error message.
