Default ZCO 6.0.5 to 6.0.6 upgrade

We are using Outlook 2003 SP3 with ZCS NE 6.0.6 GA 2330. We are attempting to upgrade a user from ZimbraOlkConnector-6.0.5_GA_2213_6.0.5846.5 to ZimbraOlkConnector-6.0.6_GA_2324_6.0.5902.6.

The user gets this message when running the msi file for ZimbraOlkConnector-6.0.6_GA_2324_6.0.5902.6: "The installer was interrupted before ZCS Connector for Outlook could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again. Click "Close" to exit"

We have tried uninstalling it after this message and we get an installation failure message: "Fatal error during installation."

We have attempted to repair the file via the Add/Remove Programs file and it gives "Installation Complete. The Installation of ZCS Connector for Outlook is Completed. Installation is complete. You may now start Outlook. If there are no existing Zimbra profiles, you will be prompted for your username and password (and possibly a server name) the first time you start Outlook. An empty profile will be created."

We tried installing the old connector (ZimbraOlkConnector-6.0.5_GA_2213_6.0.5846.5) and get this message The installer was interrupted before ZCS Connector for Outlook could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again. Click "Close" to exit"

If it were me, I'd run the Office Repair Tool and then try to install the 6.0.6 ZCO again.

If that doesn't work, I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling Office, patching it to current levels, and then running the 6.0.6 ZCO again.

We've worked with Zimbra support a few times with several clients on ZCO issues, and they are very difficult to nail down. We've found that if we can start with a clean Office installation, then everything works OK.
