Default Outlook connector from multiple locations/computers

With Exchange we had all our users set up with Outlook to connect via RPC over HTTPS...which was actually the one good thing about Exchange as it gave them full access to their mailbox from whereever they were located.

I've been experimenting with the Zimbra Outlook Connector and it seems to work well
But is it advisable to use it to connect to Zimbra remotely over the internet?

How about multiple installations of the Outlook Connector, eg a user's work computer and their home computer.
Are there any sync problems I should be aware of when having multiple instances of the Zimbra Outlook Connector accessing the same mailbox?

I've tried it with one user's mailbox but with 15,000 messages in their inbox and a mailbox size of 6GB, it's proving rather slow... unsurprisingly

Cheers, B

Multiple Outlook connectors accessing the same mailbox works fine -- I do that all the time.

Yeah thought so. Great news!

There's one user in particular that's having problems, but I think that's more down to them having 15,000 messages in their inbox!

As you know, .pst/.zdb don't like to be huge. Microsoft used to say 2G was the limit. Now they say 10G, but there are a bunch of articles that talk about corruption when .psts get past 2.

Can you spell archiving?

This does bring me on to a question I was thinking of asking in the Admin forum. Is it possible to have a filter or limit on the number of messages in a folder? So limit the inbox to 1,000 messages and move all older ones into say an Archive folder in the user's account?
And then somehow exclude that from the Outlook Connector Send/Receive?

Cheers, B
