Default Windows 7 / Outlook 2007 problem - network connection failure

Hi,

I have ZCO 5.0.19_GA_3082_5.0.3141.19, Windows 7 & Outlook 2007 w/SP2, server NE 5.0.19.

We tried following steps:

1. New installation of MS Outlook
2. New installation of ZCO
3. Succesfull config of account on Zimbra server
4. No problem with usual e-mails, sync is OK
5. I tried to sent e-mail with attached larger file (i.e. 3MB)
6. E-mail stays in Outbox with sending fails
7. Zimbra send/receive progress allways in this case displayed - Total 7.96 MB transferred
8. All sync from this moment are failed with report network connection failure
9. Data traffic on network is very high
10. This problem continue also after manual removing of e-mail from Outbox

We tried also this test on ZCO 5.0.22 with 5.0.22 NE server and ZCO 6.0.5 with 6.0.5 server. The problem was the same.

Does somebody have the same problem?

Thanks

Tomas

You could be timing out. Bump your connection timeouts in the registry to 900000. (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Zimbra\Connection.

Bump them all up.

Hi,

thanks for your solution.
I applied it on two computers. On one of them it works fine but on the other one only partly.
Although communication between Outlook and server works and there are no error messages, a part of the problem still occurs.

Let me specify:
Outlook starts synchronizing and receives data - this bit os OK.
Then it doesn't say that synchronization is completed but status is "Processsing 100%" and at this point network traffic drammatically increases. This status ends after apx. 40 sec and later repeats over and over again.

Thanks.

For the rest of your problem, I may need a ZCO log file. Run ZCOLogCtl, and enable just logging and HTTP logging. Then do a run (hopefully a small one), and send the logs.

Also note that there was a bug from 5.0.14 through 5.0.19, where the updated connection settings would be not be honored by ZCO. This was fixed in 5.0.20.

Default Same problem

I have a similar problem with one of my users. When at the office, he experiences no problems. But at home on his Verizon DSL, he experiences the exact same problem as stated above.

I have upped his all of his connections to 90000 timeout with the same results.
He is using ZCO 6.0.5737.3

That really sounds like the timeout issue to me.

Bump them up to 900000, not 90000. 90000 is only 90 seconds. You should bump them up to 15 minutes.

Default thank you

Ah good catch, I did set it to 90000. Setting it to 900000 fixed the problem. It took a long time as to be expected on a DSL line, but it did complete. Thank you.

Still having problems. The user is able to send and receive large e-mail now because of that fix we did, but his network traffic is so congested when he has Outlook open, it borders on being unusable. The user is stuck on synchronizing at a 100% like the other user noted. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
