| | | [SOLVED] Setting up appointments Hi,
First, Happy New Year to you all !
I fight with ZCO/Outlook since 6 months...
I applied patches found recently regarding the un-registered DLL in the Windows registry
I just discover that the notification when I want share a calendar is only possible from the Zimbra webmail
Now, I'm trying to see the availability of the attendees when I create an appointment.
On my Outlook I see 2 months (2 Nov '09 - 8O'Clock to 2 Jan '10 - 8O'Clock) and I didn't do anything to remove the view
On other PC, they have or not completly different views of the availability
Is there somebody to help me... I'm close to be crazy !
Thanks a lot, in advance. |

| | What version of the Outlook connector are you using?
Sharing notification will be available in 6.0.5 (bug 23879)
I'm having a hard time understanding your free/busy question. Please be more specific. |

| | | Hi,
Thank you for your quick reply.
First : ZCS Version: 6.0.1 GA 1816 / ZCO 6.0.5691.1
It seems that I have to upgrade all the clients, Isn't it ?
How can I do that without generate troubles ? I already did that, but in the wrong order...
Well... sorry for my poor english... and my Outlook version speaks french !
I will reword my question more simply :
I want to creatre an appointement/RDV/Meeting.
I invite some attendees/people (having a acount on the Zimbra server)
I expect to see the availability of them, to be sure they are all free to attend to my meeting
---> Is there some settings to see the availability of the other guy ?
(I tried to explain, I saw the last 2 months and now nomore without having changing settings. Moreover some other Outlook clients have different views... So nothing easy understandable)
Last : I saw in the english doc that one of the extra Zimbra menu I should have Tools>Options>Personas. Unfortunatly, I dont' know the translation in French, and I don't see any differences between a outlook with and without ZCO. Could you tell me how/where Persona should be appear ?
Thanks a lot ! |

| | 6.0.1 is kind of old (we're at 6.0.4 now). The ZCO sharing emails will come out in 6.0.5 -- in a few weeks. Generally, you can run earlier ZCO versions with later servers. You shouldn't run newer ZCOs than the server.
You mentioned the issue with unregistered DLLs; that would account for your not having menu items. Upgrading to ZCO 6.0.4 would fix that.
To find personas (in French):
Outils->Options...->Avatars (Tools->Options...->Personas in English)
You should also have a bunch of menu items with a red Z in front of them (you can see some of them under Outils and ?). If you don't have those, your DLL is not properly registered.
As for viewing other people's availability, we had some bugs in that area that may or may not have affected you. When you scheduled an appt, you should be able to see other people's availabilty. We just update the setting in Outlook:
Outils->Options...->Options du calendrier->Options de disponibilite->Emplacement de recherche
We just fixed a bug (43787) where this stopped working in the new year. Or did this ever work for you? Not sure what you mean by "and now nomore without having changing settings". |

| | | Thank you for your full and clear answer.
I will wait for the new version.
Does it easy to upgrade server and connectors ? Maybe you will post a guideline to do that. I didn't install the current version, so I'm "new" in that game.
Add-on Zimbra : Yes I found all the other you listed. Persona vs avatar, I suspected the relationship... So I have all the features.
In between I tried the "Absence Assistant" (translation). I didn't successed or it is not yet functional...
Outils->Options...->Options du calendrier->Options de Disponibilite->Emplacement de recherche
What do I put in the field ?
Regarding the availability, may be I ahve to wait for the future release...

| | Upgrading the Outlook connector is easy -- a 1 minute process. Just install over the top. Due to recent issues, I would recommend uninstalling your Outlook connector, and re-installing the new one. So maybe it's a 2 minute process. Upgrading the server is more involved. I'm sure there are already all kinds of wiki posts, etc. on how to do that.
Outils->Assistant Absence du bureau is fully functional. What issues are you having? I have heard of no issues with that.
As far as Outils->Options...->Options du calendrier->Options de Disponibilite->Emplacement de recherche, you normally don't put anything in there. We fill it in based on the month value in "mois de disponibilite dans le calendrier sur le serveur". I mentioned bug 43787 in a previous post. 6.0.1 shouldn't have that issue -- 6.0.4 has it, and it is fixed in 6.0.5. You can work around it in 6.0.4 by going into the Emplacement de recherche field and getting rid of the &s and &e parameters, but you would have to do it every time you enter Outlook. 6.0.1 shouldn't have those &s and &e parameters, which can cause the problem. |

| | | Upgrade:
Connector seems easy
Server, I will expect good posts on it !
Outils->Assistant Absence du bureau:
I did a new test, it works well, sorry the previous unjustified alert.
Outils->Options...->Options du calendrier->Options de Disponibilite->Emplacement de recherche:
Let the box empty pop up a box when you clic on OK:
"Vous devez taper une adresse de publication de disponibilité valide"
Anyway, I will install the 6.0.5 and with its connector.
When this version should be available ?

| | I think that error only comes up if you have Publier sur mon emplacement checked. If you don't want to publish, you should uncheck that. The value we are concerned about is the search value: Emplacement de recherche. |
