Default Sync delays in outlook connector

Hello,

I'm having issues with one remote user, who is experiencing up to 30 minute delays before new messages show up in his Outlook screen. He is using ZimbraOlkConnector-3.1.1_GA_382_3.1.893.msi. The messages are showing up immediately in the web client. These are externally originating messages coming from internet mail hosts.

Is there a way to change how fast outlook sync's with the main server? Or debug any failures?

I will have him check the sync issues subfolder in outlook to see if there is any information there.

This is not typical behaviour, as we have other users who are using the plugin and have not experienced the same delays.

You control the sync setting in the account properties. F9 will always force a sync. Can you test by sending a new message then hitting F9 to see if it arrives immediately?

F9 didnt work.

I checked with the user and he has a Sage CRM plugin installed. We're going to wipeout outlook completely, reinstall just the zimbra plugin and see if it behaves itself.

He reported that he had problems with the Sage CRM plugin before the zimbra install, although they were not related to message download speed.

Thanks again KevinH

The user had a massive mail store, and he had just recently imported it. It's likely the plugin was dealing with this in the background, slowing down updates.

After a day or so the problem went away.

Since he was a remote user his connection to the Zimbra mail hub was maxed out at 100KBps.
