ZCO 5.0.16 plus ZCS 6.0.1

Does anyone know if ZCO 5.0.16 will work with ZCS 6.0.1?

My company wants to upgrade Zimbra to 6.0.1 from 5.0.16 to try and fix a bug, but we don't want to break our Outlook deployments.

It should. It's generally ok to have an older ZCO with a newer server. We're up to 5.0.19 now. If you're running a version 5 based ZCO against a 6 based server, it would be best to have the latest 5 based ZCO. But 5.0.16 should still work.

What about a newer ZCO with an older server version? We're waiting for 6.x to have most of its' issues ironed out, but a bug popped up recently (linkedin toolbar) that is fixed by ZCO 5.0.19 (server is older than that... one at 5.0.16 and one at 5.0.17).

We don't support newer ZCO versions with older servers, but in the case of a 5.0.19 ZCO and a 5.0.16/17 server, it will probably work fine. But I wouldn't file support cases with this configuration. Depending on the releases, we sometimes have to put in ZCO changes that assume the server is later, but I don't think this happened in this case. I know there were some issues around the 5.0.7 timeframe, but that's long past. You're probably ok, if you do this on a temporary basis.

We definitely don't support ZCO 6.0.x with 5 servers.
